Vanessa Greenway grew up in Eugene, Oregon and moved to Chicago to attend The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she received her BFA in Acting. A two-time Joseph Jefferson Award winner, Vanessa's recent theatre credits include Judith Kennedy in Vitalist Theatre's Chicago premiere of THE NIGHT SEASON (2010 Non-Equity Jeff Award for Best Supporting Actress), JACKIE AND ME with Chicago Children's Theatre, Jenny in The Hypocrite’s production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA, Olivia in City Lit Theatre’s TWELFTH NIGHT, Constance in Griffin Theatre’s THE CONSTANT WIFE (2008 Non-Equity Jeff Award for Best Principal Actress-Play) and the Witch Queen in the Griffin’s adaptation of Neil Gaimen’s STARDUST. Other Chicago credits include work with Porchlight Music Theatre (INTO THE WOODS, NINE, PROMISES, PROMISES and MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG), Eclipse Theatre (TALLEY & SON) Live Bait (DEATH ON A PINK CARPET and PARAMOUNT GIRL), Noble Fool (VIKINGS! A MUSICAL IN TWO AXE, and RUTHLESS) New Tuners, Emerald City, Prop Thtre, American Theatre Co., and the American Girl Place Theatre. In 2006, Vanessa had the pleasure of singing for Stephen Sondheim himself with the musical group Cabarah in Millennium Park’s SONDHEIM IN THE PARK musical celebration.
Vanessa is also a Pilates instructor and received her equipment certification and certifications in Mat and Standing Pilates from the PhysicalMind Institute®. She teaches at Chicago River North Pilates and the Ray Meyer Fitness & Recreation Center at DePaul University.
